MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 13,2024
Mr. Reidy read a letter dated March 12,2024 from Fire Chief Phelan into the record;-The designed
fire alarm system proposed by Cape Cod Alarm has not been completely installed and will not be
ready for inspection until next week. The system designed is based on the original S-1, Moderate
Hazard Storage. If there is a change in the Use Group, the Fire Department requests the building
be evaluated and a system be installed that meets Massachusetts Fire Code 527 CMR, 1.00 and
the State Building Code. "
Mr. Goldstein read Evan Lehrer, Town Planner comments dated March 13, 2024 into the record.
"I recommend approval consistent the recommendations of the Plan Review Committee and any
subsequent comments submitted by the Mashpee Fire Department. "
The Board read the Plan Review Committee meeting minutes dated January 16, 2024 into the
record.
Mr. Goldstein asked Mr. Connolly if there will be any sign wraps to vehicles on site. This question
was not asked by any members at the Plan Review meeting.
Chairman Bonvie wanted to confirm if having vehicle sign wrap is an allowed use. Mr. Connolly
stated that there is a garage bay that would accommodate vehicles for sign wrapping and does not
take that long to process, but he mostly would be going to a customer's site.
Chairman Bonvie wanted to know if there anything else in needed to be addressed that was part of
the original Special Permit. Mr. Morris said he was not aware of any other comments. He had
nothing further to address, and anything else will be addressed during the building permitting
process.
There were no comments from the audience.
Mr. Furbush asked Mr. Connolly what the percentage of customers would be at the off-site
locations, and what type of material is used for the signs. Mr. Connolly stated that the majority of
the sign work would be at the customer's location, and could also be made at the facility. The
material could be any type, particularly PVC, wood, plastic, or metal, depending upon the
customer's request. He uses environmentally friendly ink.
Mr. Furbush asked if there were any concerns discussed from the Fire Department regarding
flammables. Mr. Goldstein stated that the Fire Department provided their comments, and the
building is under 7,500 sq. ft.
Mr. Morris mentioned that this facility is under 527 CMR and the Fire Chief s discretion.
Chairman Bonvie stated that he will review the recommendations if a motion is made submitted
by the Plan Review Committee dated January 16, 2024, Fire Department comments, and no more
than four employees per Board of Health.
8
