 Housing: Pamela asked about the difficulty people have in finding housing they can <br />afford. Katy said that inventory and price are both playing roles in making it difficult for <br />people who work here to easily find housing here. There is not much out on the market, <br />and what is out there is expensive, and makes it difficult for people to pay rent, save <br />some money, and spend money in Mashpee. Carol and Patrice mentioned the need for <br />diversified workforce housing; Patrice also said that incentives to encourage year-round <br />rentals would be helpful since it’s more lucrative for people to rent their homes by the <br />week in the summer. Carol is working on getting the town to put out an RFP to build <br />workforce housing behind the South Cape shopping center. <br /> <br />6.
