Police Full -Time Salary Account; $946 to the Medicare Account; $30,113 for the Town's portion of health <br />insurance; $35 for the Town's portion of life insurance; and $15,834 to Barnstable County Retirement or <br />take any other action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Police Department <br />Explanation: The existing and funded Part -Time Administrative Clerk position (18 hours per week) as <br />listed above will be eliminated and replaced with one new Full -Time Administrative Secretary position (40 <br />hours per week). This position is needed to assist with the Department's billing and invoicing, firearms <br />licensing, payroll processing, administrative duties, and public affairs. <br />The Select Board recommends approval of Article 15 by a vote of 4-0 <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 15 by a vote of 7-0 <br />Motion made by Select Board Member Cotton <br />Motion: I move that the Town vote to approve Article 15 as printed in the Warrant, with the <br />exception of the phrase "or take any other action relating thereto." <br />Motion passes 265 to 25 at 8:32PM <br />Article 16 <br />To see if the Town will vote to create one full-time Maintainer I position at the Department of Public Works <br />(40 hours per week) in SEIU Local 888 DPW Unit B, to be effective July 1, 2024, and to appropriate and <br />transfer the sum of $102,859 from revenue available for appropriation with said funds to be distributed as <br />follows: $57,190 to the DPW Full -Time Local Salary Account; $800 to the DPW Operating (Uniform) <br />Account; $30,113 to Medical Insurance Account; $35 to the Group Life Insurance Account; $830 to the <br />Medicare Account; $13,891 to the Pension Reserve Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Department of Public Works <br />Explanation: The DPW is responsible for maintaining all of the Town infrastructure - roads, bike <br />paths/sidewalks, athletic fields, Town buildings and grounds (including the schools), playgrounds, Transfer <br />Station, Town beaches, cemeteries, parks, landscape areas, boat ramps, conservation lands, and dams. A <br />new position has not been added since FYI 3. Since that time, the Town has accepted 11 more miles of <br />road, constructed 5 more miles of bike paths/sidewalks, and built the new Community Park and Veterans <br />Memorial, the Dog Park, the Pickleball Park, Splash Pad, and Community Gardens. Another laborer <br />position is needed to help perform the essential functions required to maintain the Town's infrastructure to <br />the expected level of service/condition. <br />The Select Board recommends approval of Article 16 by a vote of 4-0 <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 16 by a vote of 7-0 <br />Motion made by Select Board Member O'Hara <br />Motion: I move that the Town vote to approve Article 16 as printed in the Warrant, with the <br />exception of the phrase "or take any other action relating thereto." <br />Motion passes 275 to 27 at 8:34PM <br />
