<br />Bay Farm has agreed to match Clam Daddy’s pricing for R-4 quahog seed at $16 per M. <br />The DMF contacted the Department looking to give them oyster bags. The Department will pick up a <br />truckload. <br />The Department is participating in assisting the University of Michigan in a study they are conducting on <br />quahog shells. The Department was able to give them 300 quahog shells. <br />The Department currently has 3 definitive seasonal employees and 3 other candidates that they are <br />th <br />awaiting background checks and CORI reports on. They are expected to start on May 28. <br /> <br />Co-Chair Cook asked if the family area at the Seconsett causeway is closed and Chris said it is not. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL TOPICS: <br />Chair Thomas pointed out the efforts that the Tribe has put into assisting the Shellfish Division of the <br />Town stating that they are always willing to assist in any way possible. Mr. Pocknett said that they want <br />to get the waters back to how they used to be so that they don’t have a need to leave Town to fish. <br />Chair Thomas asked Buddy Pocknett to convey to the Tribe’s Shellfish Commission, at their next <br />meeting, that the Town’s Shellfish Commission is very thankful for all of the effort that’s been put in by <br />the Tribe. He stated that he thinks it’s a great partnership. <br /> <br />Chris pointed out that the Department and Buddy and Dave Pocknett are actively working with the Nature <br />Conservancy to locate areas to do the oyster restoration project that has been spoken about. He stated that <br />2 areas have been identified.
