CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES Monday, March 25, 2024* 3 <br /> Rodney Collins said he is just curious as to what identifiable problems exist with the current <br /> Charter, referring to the Town Clerk's memo. <br /> Don Myers referred to an article that confirms his belief that there is a tendency for people, if <br /> there is a list of candidates that they don't recognize to pick the first one in order. It gives that <br /> particular candidate an advantage. <br /> It was the consensus of the Committee that if the incumbent is already identifiable there is no <br /> need to change the Charter. <br /> Minutes <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following: March 4, 2024 minutes. <br /> Motion made by David Weeden to approve the March 4, 2024 minutes. Motion seconded by <br /> Mary Waygan. <br /> Roll call: <br /> Miller,yes Weeden,yes Collins, yes Furbush, yes Lewis, yes <br /> McKelvey, yes Myers, yes Waygan, yes <br /> Vote: 8 yes <br /> Old Business <br /> Update on Discussion with Finance Committee regarding Blue Books. <br /> John Miller was invited to have a meeting with Finance Committee, the consensus seemed to be <br /> that despite cost of publishing there are a lot of good reasons to continue the practice. <br /> Update on Survey Launch <br /> The Charter survey is now available electronically on the Town website and hardcopies are <br /> available at Town Hall, the Senior Center and the Library in the paper. It's also posted on several <br /> social media platforms.John Miller was invited to do a write up in the Enterprise that will appear <br /> in the March 29t" publication. An ad may also be placed in the paper. The data from the survey <br /> can be pulled at anytime. <br /> There is a standard feature with the online form through Survey Monkey preventing people from <br /> taking the survey more than once. <br /> Mary Waygan said that you get a graft of the responses and you can even track trends in some <br /> of the comments that are submitted. <br />
