MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MEETING MINUTES
JULY 10, 2024
The Board mentioned that this is not the accepted process of these applications.
Mr. Bonvie stated he had conversations with Town Counsel, and historically the Zoning Board of
Appeals is the last board that these types of applications are heard. The Board agreed that the
applicant appear in front of the Conservation Commission first.
Attorney Kirrane said he would like to follow up with Conservation and mention that he had this
discussion with the Board. Mr. Bonvie would like to be involved with that meeting.
-Interview, discussion, and recommendation with Mike Millbury for Zoning Board appointment.
The Board followed the process under the Town General Bylaw 001-1 Policy.
The candidate Mr. Millbury was in the audience to observe the meeting. He asked the Board if
these meetings are typically that lengthy. Chairman Bonvie stated that the public has a right to
speak, and the Board is courteous. He asked Mr. Millbury for his interest to join the Board.
Mr. Millbury stated that he was recently appointed to the Finance Committee. He said he reviewed
some of the bylaws, and was a little overwhelmed but is willing to learn. After witnessing the last
hearing,he wanted to understand the Board's discussion with the applicant.
Mr. Goldstein said that the Board typically reviews lot coverage and adheres to the bylaw
regulations. The Board has to set a precedent otherwise other residents would want the same
allowances.
Mr. Bonvie said that the Board tries to be fair and assist the applicants as best they can.
The Board concluded and agreed that Mr. Millbury is a good candidate for the Zoning Board.
-Approve June 12,2024 Meeting Minutes.
Ms. Sangeleer made a motion to approve the June 12, 2024 meeting minutes. Mr. Furbush
seconded. All were in favor.
13
