Unanimous. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman-Colombo,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed,none <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Update from Cape Cod and Islands,District„Attorne, Robert„Galibois: <br /> District Attorney Robert J. Galibois was in attendance to update the Select Board on activities in his office since <br /> he began his service in January, 2023. After assembling his professional staff the department created the first <br /> Trial Court of a Mental Health Specialty Court Session with the appointment of a dedicated Mental Health <br /> Specialty Court Prosecutor to address mental health issues. <br /> Early in the administration,the entire Cape and Islands Legislative Delegation joined efforts to seek additional <br /> funding to provide professional and proactive services. Of importance is the creation of a Child Protection and <br /> Human Trafficking(HT)Unit with the Office of the District Attorney working closely with local, state and <br /> federal authorities to identify, target and prosecute those who prey on vulnerable through unlawful labor <br /> practices and sexual exploitation. This office has also formed a committee to address Human Trafficking with <br /> goals to'oild awareness and provide training to identify those being targeted'and victimized to ensure there is a <br /> safety net in place. <br /> District Attorney Galibois indicated he has been conducting outreach with many community leaders to maintain <br /> an open channel of communication as he embraces the responsibilities of this position. Last year the fiscal <br /> budget was $5,755,659. The Town is requested to support the endeavors-of this department. <br />
