Town of Mashpee
ins, , seta 16 Great Neck Road North.
r g Mashpee, MA 02649
fi Ydmuw4.
Minutes of Meeting of
Design Review Committee
Tuesday, MAY 21, 2024
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Design Review Committee Members Present: Dave Morris, Ron Bonvie, Karen
Faulkner, and Carolyn Szarlan.
Dave called the meeting to order at 8:30 am.
NEW HEARINGS
8:30 am Project Address: 77 Echo Rd.
Business name: Alfieri Tree Care
Agent/Owner: Owner, Pamela M. Gangemi
Architect/En,iq neer: Cape and Islands Engineering, Inc.
Request: Contractor yard use under §174-25 G (13) of the Zoning Bylaws. No
buildings proposed.
Mr. Raul Lizardi, Cape & Islands Engineering represented the applicant. The applicant is
Alfieri Tree Care. This business has a location on Nicoletta's Way, and the applicant
needs more space for his use. The property is located in the 1-1 Zoning District. The
applicant is proposing a contractor's yard. There is no proposed building. The only
proposal is a driveway, and an open gravel yard. The lot will be graded from the back to
the front with a drainage system to collect any runoff at the front. A paved 24 ft. wide
apron will be installed at Echo Road. Beyond the entrance will be a gravel-based apron
35 ft. that will open into the contactor's yard.
There will be 10 ft. wide vegetation screen along both sides of the property, and similar
screening along the back of the property, but will have less screening because the basin
is higher. This will retain any water runoff toward the drainage system in the front. There
is no utilities required: no septic system, no electrical, and no water needed. The drainage
system consists of a retention basin that is 4 ft. deep. After a 2 ft. rise of the water level
within the basin, the subsurface leaching component will form galleys that are designed
for a 100-year storm event. There will be gravel and dirt within the contractor's yard. There
will be some partitions depending upon the uses. There will be log storage area, areas
for wood chips, and some containers to house other items. There's an area designated
for snow storage. The snow storage area will move depending upon the amount of
traveled areas within the yard. There is erosion control around the parameter of the site.
There's catch basins and there is protection for those catch basins that DPW has asked
for in the past. This protection is in the form of a silt sack to capture runoff, and will be
cleaned after a rain storm event.
