b. Diversity Coalition (J. Marie Stevenson). Leslie Domingos Santos, the <br /> Barnstable County Human Rights Coordinator, reported that at least five <br /> other schools (besides Mashpee) are having bullying issues. The committee <br /> discussed the recent assault at MMHS. Chairwoman Stevenson talked about <br /> accountability and that reports indicate punishment doesn't stop bullying— <br /> the accused become abusers. She also referenced bystander training. <br /> Richard Klein referenced the school committee meeting where <br /> Superintendent DeBoer was being bullied. <br /> c. Human Rights Club (Ayesha Shafi and Aimen Igbal); The H.R. Club is shifting. <br /> They do a Listening Circle. Theyare currently focusing on women's health <br /> issues, such as the I AM Bill(improving access to menstrual products in <br /> schools and shelters). <br /> 6. Old Business <br /> a. Race Amity Day (Dan Kupferman). The rain kept attendance down but <br /> everyone there was high energy. A discussion was had about looking for an <br /> indoor alternative or a rain date. The RAD committee will discuss it at a <br /> debrief meeting. <br /> b. MIDC Logo: Ayman Iqbal presented anew logo for the committee to review. <br /> c. Pamphlet status: Superintendent DeBoer was working on updating it. <br /> 7. New Business <br /> a. Superintendent DeBoer's Plaque Presentation: Chairwoman Stevenson <br /> stated that we're stillworkingoutwhenwe'll present Ms. DeBoerwith the <br /> plaque. She added that Ms. Purdy and Ms. Troyanos will be retiring soon as <br /> well—we can't let the Who We Are project die. There are plans for a book. <br /> b. Assistant Superintendent Hope Hanscomb will replace Ms. DeBoer on the <br /> Committee. <br /> c. Election of Officers: We need to hold elections for Chair and Vice Chair. <br /> d. Outreach: Chairwoman Stevenson discussed the goals of the MIDC and <br /> referenced "staying in our lane." <br /> Chairwoman Stevenson spokewith Cathy Lewis, Vice Chair of the Mashpee <br /> School Committee.
