<br /> <br />SHELLFISH COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />JULY 9, 2024 – 6:00PM <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL – 16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH <br />WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chair, Peter Thomas, Shellfish Constable, Chris Avis, <br /> Darryl Christensen, Bill Holmes (arrived at 7:00), Dwight Pfundstein, Jaime Pachico, <br /> Buddy Pocknett <br /> <br />OTHER ATTENDEES: NRO, Tyler Grady <br /> <br />ABSENT: Co-Chair, Dick Cook <br /> <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chair Thomas called the meeting to order in Open Session in the <br />Waquoit Meeting Room at 6:00PM. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: None at this time. <br /> <br />MINUTES: Discussion and approval of the May 14, 2024 Shellfish Commission Meeting minutes. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Darryl Christensen to accept the May 14, 2024 Shellfish Commission <br />Meeting minutes. <br />Motion seconded by Chris Avis. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: None at this Time. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. Aquaculture Grants: <br />Status Update on Lisa and Joe Bohnenberger Grant. <br /> <br />Chris Avis reported that Lisa and Joe Bohnenberger’s grant was approved to move forward at the May 20, <br />2024 Select Board meeting. As it stands right now, they are awaiting the DMF to do an onsite, bottom <br />survey even though it was already done 4 – 5 years ago. A date and time has not yet been set. Once the <br />bottom survey is done it can be submitted to the Army Corps of Engineers. <br /> <br />Status Update on John Quiterio Grant. <br /> <br />Chris reported that John Quiterio’s grant transfer from Mike Ronhock was approved by the Select Board <br />on May 20, 2024. John should have gear in the water within the next week or two. <br />Chris stated that John is considering requesting a change in configuration to the grant in order to make it <br />easier for him to navigate his runs. <br /> <br />Chair Thomas asked the Shellfish Constable how many more aquaculture grants the Town is able to <br />support and Chris stated that the Town is in a holding pattern at the moment due to the Harbor <br />Management Plan.
