IMP. IMBO
d"fr,,{ynr,fw VhP.
w Mashpee lncCusion and'Diversity Committee
16 Great Neck Road Worth
'Alashyee, AMA 02649
Richard Klein commented about the Town Manager coming to the Committee a few months
back to discuss a situation, and we were left without knowing the resolution. It was a race
issue that came to the Finance Department in the form of a threatening email. The Town
Manager got hold of it and read it to this Committee. He asks that Mr. Moulis follow up and
maybe they can figure out where the domain came from.
Coalition
Chair Stevenson will be sharing the information from the program Mr. Moulis participated in
across the Coalition's groups. There is a controversy going on right now between Plymouth
representatives, in terms of making a land acknowledgement. Apparently, a legal counsel
advised not using a land acknowledgement. This left a Plymouth No Place for Hate group
questioning that decision. Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee uses one, the School
Committee uses one, but the Select Board does not.
Human Rights Club
The Human Rights Academy is being held October 29t". Right now, their main focus is on the
Who We Are project. Interviews are being organized and edited. Recipes have been provided
for each story. They have a total of 38 interviews.
Column
Dan Kupferman will be retiring from writing the column on behalf of MIDC. Over the past four
years he has written over 40 columns, and he has reached his capacity. He has two more left,
his last will be October. He is unsure how it will move forward, but maybe he will write on
occasion in the future.
Chair Stevenson will meet with the new editor and look for people to write and tell their stories.
She knows of some people she can ask, like Marie Blackburn. Mr. Kupferman also interviewed
some people that never got published.
OLD BUSINESS
Pamphlet Update
There was a copy made and handed to members. This is a good base model to start with, but
it requires some updating. A subcommittee will be established to make revisions.
Logo Update
Aimen finished the logo and will send it to members via email.
4
