Representative: Cape & Islands Engineering, Inc. <br /> Representative: Mark Dibb <br /> Site features: <br /> ■ Single family dwelling <br /> ■ Concrete patio <br /> ■ Pool <br /> ■ Licensed pier, ramp and float <br /> Current Situation: <br /> ■ The existing float sits in 3 to 4 inches of water at mean low tide. <br /> ■ The last two piers are in the saltmarsh <br /> Proposal: <br /> ■ Extend the float to a depth of 1 ft <br /> ■ New piles will be placed beyond the saltmarsh, ensuring no disturbance <br /> ■ Install twelve loin piles for the fixed portion of the pier. <br /> ■ Use 4 piles to hold the float in its location <br /> COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS <br /> Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF)response letter concerns: <br /> o Clearance recommendation: <br /> ■ Ensure the lowest part of the dock is clear from the salt marsh. Current <br /> plans do not clearly communicate this. <br /> ■ The existing pier has a 4.5-foot clearance,just over the 1:1 <br /> recommendation. The proposal does not include modifications to the <br /> structure. <br /> o Winter flounder population impact: <br /> ■ Expressed concerns about the impact of the project as the location is a <br /> habitat area of particular concern. The narrative provided states the <br /> opposite, so clarification is requested. <br /> ■ The representative states that the overall impact on the area would decline <br /> by getting the float in deeper water. <br /> o Boat clearance suggestion: <br /> 5 <br />
