The Chair met with the Barnstable Ponds coalition and was impressed with the cooperation of the <br /> pong groups and networks around the region coming together to monitor and address the water <br /> quality issues in the region. <br /> 3. The Chair also reported that she and Ms.Castaneda had been asked by some local realtors to give <br /> a presentation on the sewer project on October 9, 2024. <br /> 4. The Chair reported on the Chop Chauque 6.5 bogg restoration around Santuit Pond,which should <br /> present more improvements to the water quality. The funds have been granted and construction <br /> should begin shortly. <br /> Wastewater Su erintendent U date <br /> • Subcommittee Policy Review—No update. <br /> Mr. Meader stated that at the next meeting there would be rate information that would require a <br /> discussion and possible vote. He stated that the borings for Phase 2 are just about complete. <br /> Mr. Meader also stated that he's going to be attending a Cape wide wastewater meeting on October 9, <br /> 2024 to give all the Cape Town's an opportunity to discuss the various issues that everyone is currently <br /> facing. <br /> There was a general discussion on sludge removal and Mr. Meader noted that the de-watering was <br /> slated for Phase 5, but that he's suggested to the Engineers possibly moving that up to Phase 3 as it's <br /> getting unpredictable for the future disposal of sludge. Mr. Lyons requested Mr. Meader contact <br /> Barnstable, Chatham and Falmouth as to what/how they're disposing of their sludge. <br /> The Commission then had a discussion on the wet wells and monitoring reports. Mr. Meader reminded <br /> them of his conversation with the DEP as part of the perk test on utilization of data loggers,which will <br /> increase the data. <br /> The installers training hasn't been determined and won't be until after the bid for the pumps has been <br /> awarded as the training will need to be based on the pumps they'll be installing. Once that training has <br /> been completed,there will be a packet for homeowners. Customers will receive a notice to connect and <br /> a step by step checklist of what they need to do that will include all of the information necessary for <br /> each step. Homeowners will have 90 days to connect.
