DRAFT CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES Monday, May 13, 2024 <br /> 3 <br /> Section 7-7 Periodic Review, Charter and By-laws <br /> Referring to part (a) <br /> Motion made by Mary Waygan to change the timing to hold a public hearing from thirty (30) <br /> days to sixty (60), motion seconded by Greg McKelvey. <br /> Roll call: <br /> Miller, yes Weeden, yes Collins, abstain Furbush,yes McKelvey, yes <br /> Myers, yes Sherman,yes Waygan, yes <br /> Vote: 8—yes <br /> The Committee continued discussion on part (a) of section 7-7 regarding establishment of the <br /> charter review committee every ten years. It was recommended that the review of the charter <br /> and establishment of the committee shall take place ten (10) years after the final report is <br /> submitted to Town meeting and voted on. Language will be drafted of part (a) for further review. <br /> There were additional proposed changes regarding the composition of the Charter Review <br /> Committee and the number of members. <br /> Referring to part (b) <br /> Part (b) of section 7-7 a representative from the planning board, building, health, conservation <br /> and the finance committee should be included in the composition of the By-law review <br /> committee. <br /> The inspectional departments would be ex officio members. Other members would include the <br /> Select Board, Town Clerk, Finance Committee, Planning, Conservation, Health, Zoning, the Town <br /> Manager and a member at large selected by the committee. <br /> Motion made by Rodney Collins to change the composition of the By-law Review Committee to <br /> consist of the Select Board, Town Clerk, Finance Committee, Planning, Conservation, Health, <br /> Zoning,the Town Manager and a member at large selected by the committee, motion seconded <br /> by Mary Waygan. <br /> Roll call: <br /> Miller, yes Weeden,yes Collins, abstain Furbush,yes McKelvey, yes <br /> Myers, yes Sherman,yes Waygan, yes <br /> Vote: 8—yes <br />
