Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
Creation of Community Advisory Group
Chair Stevenson has a list of almost 15 people who are interested in this group in some
capacity. She would like to maintain community members who can act as contacts to different
smaller communities or neighborhoods in town. These people will be like Community Advisors
or Outreach Ambassadors.

Mohamad Fahd commented that one easy way to get to know our community members or
neighbors is to arrange a time on the weekend and organize a simple walk. We all gather at
the location at said time, take a walk, enjoy the fresh air, exercise, and get to know someone
new.

Dan Kupferman is wondering what this person would do, it sounds like a liaison, where they
communicate with us and get the word to their community and then back to us.

Richard Donovan stated the newspaper plays a supporting role for any action of this
committee, and would get great coverage. He also doesn’t think ambassadorships are helpful.

Marie Stevenson commented that the readership is not as substantial as it used to be. Now
social media has a broader reach.

Richard Donovan alluded to the cross fertilizations with individuals that are active in these
other groups.

Chair concluded that we cannot depend on one outlet to reach our audiences. Maybe we do
more public speaking or do more outreach within these other groups.

Mr. Donovan reminded everyone of the success of Who We Are and how that project hosted
60-70 people.

NEW BUSINESS
Resignation/ New member Interest
Rowela Kent has officially resigned. Rolf Brandt just informed the Committee he will be
resigning. We are sorry to see our friends depart.

Strategic Planning/ Survey
The No Place for Hate committee in Plymouth sent out a survey to their community and
leaders. It was a questionnaire that received a 20% response. Whatever the response, they
did get some valuable feedback.
4
