• March 26, 2024—Mr. Tomaino motions to approve the March 26, 2024, minutes with revisions. Motion seconded by Mr. Lehrer. Motion passes unanimously. OLD BUSINESS ➢ Review of Draft Sections: o Climate Change ■ Overview • Important for the section to bluntly state the reality of local data's revelations about projected climate change impacts, emphasizing the urgency of the matter. • Concerns about the large amount of data in the plan and suggests omitting some of it. On the other hand, others suggest keeping all the information in the plan as proposed. • Revise the narrative to clarify the boat ramp references, specifying that it should be "Ed Baker Boat Ramp" or "Pirates Cove" at Mashpee Neck Road. • Graphs/Charts/Figures —Difficult to understand and lack proposed impact. Suggestion greater color delineation: for instance, making the blue more transparent (see page 19). The impacted area is extensive; recommendation: a zoomed-in image to enhance the reader's understanding of the issue. • The Committee is asked if any specific areas should be emphasized. Recommendation: o identifying areas that are more recognizable to the residents, o incorporation of landmarks to aid the public in recognizing the referenced locations. o Proposed changes to all the provided maps. o The Committee concurs with the decision to add landmarks to all"figures" in the "plan." • Revision: Popponesset Spit is missing from the map. • Additional Discussion —2070 projection so far into the future diminishes the sense of urgency for the issues discussed in the narrative. Suggestion: addressing some of the impacts on a short- term basis. o Incorporate landmarks into the narrative to make more impactful ■ Planning & Activities • Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP)Program -No issues. 2
