Following the hurricane, shingles on the roof needed <br />to be replaced and additional shingles came off during the storm following, otherwise, the <br />building is in good condition. There was some minor staining of the ceiling due to a <br />minor leak as a result of the loss of the shingles. <br /> <br />Motion: Jeanne Noussee moved to accept the Director’s Report, seconded by Norah <br />McCormick. TREASURER’S REPORT <br /> <br />Jim Long distributed the Treasurer’s Report and reviewed the budget figures with the <br />Council members. <br /> <br />Motion: Jeanne Noussee moved to accept the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by <br />Norah McCormick. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />3. OUTREACH COORDINATOR’S REPORT <br /> <br />Lynne Waterman distributed and reviewed her report for October 2012. She noted she <br />continues to meet with the SHINE friendly visitor assistant, grief support, birthday flower <br />delivery, and biography volunteers to provide supervision and to assign clients. She <br />assigned a volunteer to put together get well baskets which will be distributed to clients <br />in the hospital or in rehab facilities. During the month of October, the volunteer drivers <br />completed thirteen ride requests. Lynne said they continue to have difficulty recruiting <br />new drivers and Judy Genge and Lynne are looking for new ways to attract drivers. <br />Lynne met with new Capers’ President Justine Bowen to review her club’s participation <br />in the annual holiday gift delivery. She also met with Katie McMakin, Program Director, <br />South Bay Mental Health to plan our volunteer supervisor’s training on how to recognize <br />and respond to signs of mental illness. <br /> <br />Motion: Jeanne Noussee moved to accept the Treasurer’s report for September, <br />seconded by Virginia McCormick. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />4. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR’S REPORT <br /> <br />Lynne Waterman reviewed the Volunteer Coordinator’s Report with the Council <br />members. She highlighted that the required number of hours for an invitation to the <br />annual volunteer recognition is now 25 hours. This is up from 10 hours which was the <br />standard in the past. <br /> <br />Motion: Jeanne Noussee moved to accept the Volunteer Coordinator’s Report, <br />seconded by Virginia McIntyre.
