BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES <br /> MONDAY, OCTOBER 15 , 1990 10 : 45 AM <br /> I Present: 0. Robertson, Chairperson G. Selander <br /> A. Fiorentini A. Rockwood <br /> M. Fordham H. De Poe <br /> Library Director <br /> II Minutes of the September meeting were accepted with <br /> corrections . <br /> III Reports : <br /> A. The librarian' s report was accepted as read. Helene <br /> noted that circulation is up 10% over the previous <br /> year. <br /> B. Friends of the Library: October 23 , Tuesdav 1: 30 p.m. <br /> Mary Fordham reported that she has arranged a program <br /> which sounds very entertaining, thanks to Helene DeFoe' s <br /> idea: Rich Kenny who teaches a course at Cape Cod Com- <br /> munity College, whose presentation will be "Radio Re- <br /> visited" . He will try to get at least three people from <br /> the audience to perform. They will do excerpts from old <br /> radio programs, like Fibber MaGee and Molly, and then <br /> the audience will have to guess the character. it <br /> should be fun. <br /> C. Relative to the reception tea which was given honoring <br /> the library volunteers, Gloria Selander reported that <br /> there was a turnout of 30 to 40 people, the entertain- <br /> ment was great, and the reception was very well received. <br /> D. Plary Fordham reported on the recent book sale - a huge <br /> success. 'Vie earned approximately $160. <br /> E. H. DeFoe reported that the Friends had purchased a <br /> typewriter for the library to replace a typewriter <br /> which had died during the budget year. 'They have <br /> decided to place the typewriter in the meeting room <br /> to be used by the staff to type overdue notices . <br /> The staff is very pleased with the typewriter. it <br /> is a great machine with a nice type. <br /> IV Correspondence : <br /> The Library Trustees Association Conference November 3rd: <br /> H. DeFoe and 0. Robertson plan to attend. As many as <br /> would like to attend were invited. <br /> V OLD BUSINESS : <br /> �' 1IG1=J <br /> A. H. DeFoe reported that she had attended the CELA <br /> trustees ' Conference on October 13th at Sturgis <br /> Library. There were approximately 40 people in <br /> attendance and a number of trustees. <br />
