MASHPEE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> MAY 24, 1994 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 7.10 P.M. <br /> PLEASE NOTE FOR THE RECORD THAT THE TAPING OF THIS MEETING WAS <br /> FOR THE TRANSCRIPTION OF THE MINUTES ONLY. THE TAPES WILL BE <br /> REUSED ONCE THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED. <br /> Members Present Tom Potts, Chairman; Nelson Andrews; and Sidney Stern. <br /> Jamie Regan was unable to attend. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Tom MOTIONED to accept the Minutes of May 16 with two modified corrections. <br /> ~ The Motion was seconded and members voted 3-0 to accept Minutes. <br /> EFFORTS TO GET THE STATE TO DESIGNATE CAPE COD AS AN"ECONOMIC <br /> TARGET AREA" <br /> Sid asked about an omission in the Minutes of the May 10 meeting regarding a <br /> report he gave to the Committee. The report provided information to the <br /> Committee that Sid had received at a meeting of the Cape Cod Economic <br /> Development Council about a state program that will be designating 20 economic <br /> target areas for grants that will be providing rebates on tax returns and other <br /> advantages for businesses that move into town. The Cape Cod Economic <br /> Development Council is in the process of completing the region's application and <br /> expects to have it filed with the state's Economic Assistance Coordinating Council <br /> before the July 1 deadline. The economic development council has asked all Cape <br /> towns to adopt resolutions that support the council's efforts. Yarmouth selectmen <br /> j <br />
