i
Bays tried. Sid suggested having all five EDC members together
to physically view all the industrial/commercial property in
Mashpee. It was unanimously agreed to postpone discussion of
goals. Steve will call Paul and Bob to come up with some
available dates for a special meeting when all five members
can attend.
Sid reported the "Green Books" arrived and passed them around.
It should be the Coordinator ' s job to contact these businesses
to relocate or expand to Mashpee. It was mutually agreed that
we need to have an inventory in order to make information
available to these businesses. Copies of the "Guide" log were
distributed; this answered Ted' s former question re: what has
happened to the "Guides. " Sid stated that the Town Librarian
is available and will give information upon request, and he
encouraged members to make use of those services..
Steve distributed a sample transmittal letter re: the "Guide"
for real estate offices in Mashpee. Sid stated we should keep
a log and give only one to two copies of the "Guide" out to
real estate offices with the transmittal letter. It was mutually
agreed that the Coordinator will keep the log and only 1--2 copies
be given out as real estate office file copies. Sid suggested
that each- real estate office could request additional copies
for specific clients interested' in locating their business 'in
Mashpee.
Sid stated that he learned that 37 other towns besides Mashpee
applied for the Local Partnership grant.
Sid asked if anyone wanted to attend the ETA/EOA Workshop on
Wednesday, October 12 , 1994. Sid will attend; Steve and Ted
are unable to go. Sid announced the upcoming meeting on
Wednesday , October 19, 1994 at 10 :00 a.m. re: the Industrial
Land Survey and Pre-Screening -Industrial Sites; Members were
encouraged to attend; however, Sid will attend:
Sid read the -letter written by Paul Reynolds re: the U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service presentation scheduled for the October
25 , 1994 Agenda, 7: 30 - 8: 30 p.m. Ted and Steve were in favor
of this . Sid subsequently read a letter he prepared to the Board
of Assessors inviting them to be on the agenda that night to
discuss the impact, if any, on Mashpee' s tax 'revenues by the
Fish and Wildlife ' s proposal. A motion was made, seconded,
and unanimously voted to send the letter to the Board of
Assessors. '
Ted had to leave the meeting early, thus a quorum was not
possible, so the meeting adjourned at 8: 40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Gelsthorpe, Board Secretary
-2-
