MASHPEE <br /> Also present was Wayne Duchemin, E. D. Coordinator. 9 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7: 25 p.m. <br /> The Minutes of November 8, 1994 were accepted. <br /> A motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to accept <br /> the Mission Statement developed at the November 8, 1994 meeting <br /> incorporating Sid's modifications. (See attached) . <br /> Steve distributed EDC' s "Committee Goals & Tasks FY94-95" that <br /> he arranged into categories . <br /> Wayne reported on Bio Tech possibilities , community involvement <br /> and access to academia ( i .e. research projects involving Woods <br /> Hole interns ) . A meeting will be scheduled with Bob Whritenour <br /> to determine where to start re: the clean up. <br /> Paul suggested writing a letter to the Selectmen re: type of <br /> businesses we want to attract; this will help EDC as a <br /> committee. Ted suggested time lines should be tied into the <br /> projects. Steve stated that it is important to work on short <br /> term goals and achieving them by February. Paul agreed and <br /> j stated we may be able to increase our budget if we write a letter <br /> to the Selectmen and note our accomplishments. Paul further <br /> stated that achieving a manageable data base could be one of <br /> our achievements. Wayne would like to do a press release; they <br /> are free, and he is drafting one. <br /> Sid reported on a meeting he attended with Bob Writenour and <br /> Wayne Duchemin in which he learned that MBRI went to Boston <br /> because the land and facility were free. Sid noted that Mashpee <br /> does not have turn key available space. Sid suggested we solicit <br /> building developers for the I-1 lots to provide turnkey <br /> space. Mark Forest (Studd' s assistant) can give us names of <br /> businesses . Otis clean up companies will be drawn here. Steve <br /> stated we need to use our creativity in marketing approaches; <br /> mass mailing is not enough. Ted asked about approaching Bank <br /> of Boston. .Sid stated Northland Realtors represent them. Sid <br /> feels Mashpee should buy it, but Bob Whritenour foresees a biy <br /> problem with going before Town meeting. Sid suggested the Town <br /> attorneys be involved for input and research it with MIFA. <br /> Pre-permitting makes it more marketable. Ted suggested searching <br /> the non profit angle. Paul asked the cost to pre-screen, and <br /> there is none. Steve stated we should be the "cheerleaders" <br /> and co-brokers of this property. Ted suggested contacting those <br /> -1 - <br />
