CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Wayne D. received written approval of our EOA designation from <br /> the Mass. Office of Business Development. The next step is <br /> to attract someone to purchase/lease the Augat facility. <br /> EDC COORDINATOR'S REPORT <br /> Wayne D. reported the PWED grant is in the State ' s hands , and <br /> he is working with Shane Mason in Tour Cahir' s office. This <br /> is a $1,000 ,000 project ( $750 ,000 grant) . We are asking the <br /> State for two road improvements , one at Mashpee Industrial Park <br /> and the other at Joe ' s Fishing. This would include widening, <br /> geometrics, lighting and bus shelter. <br /> SUB COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Marketina Committee: Sharon K. will attend the Cape Tech Council <br /> meeting scheduled on June 6 . She attended the last meeting <br /> but had nothing to report. <br /> Steve K. stated we need to push miarketing and PR. <br /> Sharon K. stated we need a larger budget to expand our "Discover <br /> Mashpee" campaign and attract land developers . We need to work <br /> out a marketing program next year, and Providence R. I . was cited <br /> as a good example. <br /> Education Committee: Cynthia G. stated that the Junior <br /> Achievement meeting with Trish and Gloria Dube was cancelled, <br /> and she had nothing to report. <br /> FY97 BUDGET DISCUSSION <br /> Wayne D. reported $3 ,781, 96 is remaining in EDC' s budget (out <br /> of the $5 ,000 allotted) . <br /> Some additional expenditures to be deducted are: <br /> $1, 000 DPW sign maintenance <br /> $ 300 Direct mailing <br /> - $ 250 Junior Achievement <br /> This leaves a balance of approx. $2 ,200 remaining. <br /> EDC agreed to upgrade the Coordinator ' s office. We will switch <br /> from CCS World to CC Internet so we can receive E Mail at a <br /> cost of approx. $30 mo. Paul R. also recommended hiring a <br /> consultant for 4 hours to help Wayne yet accla,riated. EDC agreed <br /> to spend up to $250 to upgrade the Coordinator ' s skills . <br /> -2- <br />
