IF <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 22 , 1998 <br /> Fred Diveco, Chairman, . called the meeting to order at 7 : 10 d.m. <br /> in Conference Room #2 at Mashpee Town Hall . <br /> Present: Fred DiMeco, Marty Hamer, Ken Cirillo , Kevin ShacA-ett. <br /> Jack Hart arrived at 7 : 25 p.m. <br /> Also present: Wayne Duchemin, Michael Gallerini , Edward Santos , <br /> and Robert Fortini . <br /> Fred D. welcomed all the new EDC members . <br /> MINUTES: The Minutes of April 23 , 1998 were approved as <br /> presented. <br /> SUB COMMITTEES: The new EDC board will fora sub committees <br /> at a later date. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: Wayne D. stated there is approximately $200 <br /> remaining in last year ' s budget. The brochure expense will <br /> be taken from this year ' s budget. <br /> Fred D. commented that the Falmouth Technology Park is run well . <br /> Wayne D. suggested inviting them to one of EDC' s meetings . <br /> Wayne D. stated that we may be able to rezone some of Mashpee ' s <br /> available land, and we have a map of what is available. <br /> Fred D. stated that the Falmouth Industrial Park was formed <br /> when the Town gave them the land. Fred D. suggested asking <br /> Mass Military to give up some of their land as reparation to <br /> Mashpee. <br /> Ken C. suggested that we try to ,iieet with the Town fathers. <br /> Everyone introduced themselves around the table , and Wayne D. <br /> asked the visitors from Plymouth for their recommendations for <br /> promoting economic development in Mashpee and share what they <br /> accomplished in Plymouth. <br /> I <br /> Mike Gallerini , Director. of Economic Development in Plymouth, <br /> suggested getting political sup-port from the Town officials <br /> and State Representatives. Plymouth received $1 . 5 million for <br /> a building renovation that is part of the downtown <br /> revitalization project. They presently have five village <br /> centers. There is a hotel going up in their Industrial Park. <br /> They rezoned for their other hotels (Marriott and the Sheraton) . <br /> Memorial Hall is owned by the Town. Plymouth is building a <br /> waste water plant in 2002 . They are adding many restaurants . <br /> He suggested being broad-based , which is a balancing act. <br />
