The EDIC will own Augat for one year and then transfer ownership
to another organization. We could sell it. We will schedule
strategy sessions to cover all the issues.
Some hot issues in the Town are: ( 1 ) Mash-pee River proposal
for a municipal waste treatment plant and ( 2 ) traffic on Route
28.
Wayne stated we lost our connection with the PEWOD grant. Maybe
EDC should begin communicating with our Legislators asking them
to help us with future funding.
Jack H. stated there will be a cable upgrade in Mashpee within
the next six months . He feels high tech companies will locate
here because the infrastructure will be in place. They are
accepting proposals from Towns who offer commercial use. They
have not seen a demand for it in Mash-pee. We need a planned
approach for businesses. EDC needs to yet the word out and
do a collective approach with a formal written -proposal . This
is important to Mash-pee ' s image and technical capabilities.
The next meeting will be held on January 28 , 1. 999.
The meeting adjourned at 8 : 30 p.m.
Mary Gelsthor-pe , oard Secretary
-3-
