<br />MASHPEE ENVIRONMENTAL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE <br />MINUTES <br />July 12, 2017 - 6:30 P.M. <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> <br />Present: Michael Talbot, Dale McKay, Joseph Cummings, Katelyn Cadoret, Andrew <br />Gottlieb <br /> <br />Absent: Andrew McManus, Rick York <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Michael Talbot called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: May 10, 2017 <br />Motion: Mr. Gottlieb moved to approve the May 10, 2017 minutes, seconded by Joe <br />Cummings. 5-0 <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Mashpee Community Gardens Status: Update <br /> <br />The Chair distributed a copy of the Gardening Matters Newsletter (Multiple Benefits of <br />Community Gardens) to the members. The Chair stated the Mashpee Environmental Coalition <br />voted to support the maintenance and improve management of the Mashpee Community <br />Gardens. At last month’s MEC meeting, the reporter came to the meeting and in his article he <br />reported MEC was opposed to the pickle ball courts which is not true. We are not opposed to the <br />pickle ball courts. The Historical Commission opposes that site. He said MEC will be meeting <br />tomorrow at the Library at 4:00 and invited Katelyn to attend the meeting to discuss the gardens <br />and other issues. <br /> <br />Motion: Mr. Gottlieb moved to support the revitalization of the Mashpee Community <br />Gardens and efforts to approve the management of it. Seconded by Mr. McKay. Vote <br />unanimous 5-0 <br />Issues for the EOC to tackle next (hold until later in the meeting) <br /> <br />ACTION ITEMS UPDATE <br />Mashpee CWMP: <br /> <br />Mr. Gottlieb stated the shellfish propagation is 95% done with the intermunicipal <br />agreement with Sandwich and Barnstable around Popponesset.
