TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> April 6, 1993 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7 :00 p.m. <br /> Members present: Stephen J. Greelish and John T. Doherty <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING, IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. Stephen J. Greelish, Chairman <br /> Mr. Greelish stated, "This special meeting was called in <br /> order to discuss a recycling proposal submitted by Browning <br /> Ferris Industries. " <br /> Mr. Rob Paltz, representative of Browning Ferris Indus- <br /> tries, and Mr. S. Joseph DiMaggio were in attendance. <br /> Mr. Paltz relayed, "A 40 yard compactor for the plastics <br /> would be the most .economical way to-go. " "The current 30 <br /> A yard, compactor for the clear glass is sufficient. " "The col- <br /> ored glass compactor should be increased to a 30 yard compac- <br /> tor mixing the green and brown glass together. " "An addi- <br /> tional . 30 yard compactor would be feasible for both the tin <br /> and aluminum. " <br /> Mr. DiMaggio recommended Mr. Paltz visit the Transfer <br /> Station/LandfilliRecycling Center. <br /> f <br /> Mr. Greelish informed Mr. Paltz a portion of the newspa- <br /> per will be utilized for the composting area. "We would like <br /> the remaining newspaper to be taken by the contractor for use <br /> at large field operations, etc. " <br /> Mr. Paltz commented, "There will be hauling charge for <br /> the newspapers. " "The rate will be adjusted should the site, <br /> utilized by our company, change. " <br /> Mr. Greelish relayed, "Currently there is an addendum to <br /> the Transfer Station/Landfill contract regarding the staffing <br /> of the recycling area. " "It may be beneficial if the recy- <br /> cling company were to staff the area themselves. " <br /> Mr. Paltz responded, "That is a possibility. " "Is there <br /> a chance the gate-keeper could perform both duties. " <br />
