r i <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> September 30, 1993 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Members present: Steven R. Ball and Stephen J. Greelish <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. Steven R. Ball, acting Chairman <br /> 1 . ) Warrants signed. <br /> 2 . ) Approval of the minutes for September 15, 1993 meeting <br /> were postponed until all Board members are in attendance. <br /> 3 . ) Proposed "Smoking. Regulation" - Mr. Ball recommended <br /> the Board review the regulation for comment at next week's <br /> meeting. <br /> Agreed. <br /> 4 . ) Letter from James Kinney re: Base Cleanup - Mr. <br /> McQuaid stated, "Mr. Dan Santos is scheduled to attend next <br /> week's meeting. " "In order to bring Board members up to date <br /> he has prepared a brief synopsis of what has transpired over <br /> the past few months. " "I would recommend we discuss this <br /> matter with Mr. Santos next week. " <br /> Board members agreed. <br /> 5. ) Letter from Aronow re: Briarwood - Mr. Greelish <br /> stated, "This gentlemen, given his credentials, should be <br /> aware of the situation. " Mr. Greelish directed Mr. McQuaid <br /> to forward a letter to Mr. Aronow stating, "The contamination <br /> levels that are confirmed in his area are considered a risk <br /> to public health. Long term exposure is considered to be <br /> hazardous. Although he may be a summer resident the poten- <br /> tial for exposure still exists. In the interests of public <br /> health this Board will be considering a moratorium for well <br /> water use in the area. " <br /> Agreed. <br /> Mr. Ball recommended this Board request to meet with the <br /> Water District Commissioner's to discuss a waiver of the <br /> meter and installation fees. <br /> Agreed. <br />
