TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> November 18, 1993 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Members present: John T. Doherty, Steven R. Ball and Stephen <br /> J. Greelish <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> j <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. John T. Doherty, Chairman <br /> 1 . ) Warrants signed. <br /> 2 . ) Mr. Greelish motioned to accept the minutes of November <br /> 4 , 1993 , Mr. Ball seconded, all agreed. <br /> 3 . ) Letter fro W & S to D.E.P. re: Landfill-reclassifica- <br /> tion - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "We did file within_ the time .pe- <br /> _riod allotted- to request a meeting with D.E.P. to reclassify <br /> our landfill from significant threat to potential threat. <br /> "Once we have the meeting date setup I will notify Barnstable <br /> j County as they did offer their help in our defense. " <br /> Acknowledged. <br /> I <br /> 4. ) Letter from D.E.P. re: Lagoon closure plan approval - <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "We have been given until April 30 , 1995 <br /> to close the lagoons as per plans submitted by Weston & <br /> Sampson. " "We should not have any problems meeting their <br /> deadline. " <br /> Acknowledged. <br /> 5. Bi-monthly landfill/transfer station inspection - Mr. <br /> McQuaid relayed, "We have retained PK Contracting to remove <br /> the white goods and tin cans. " "One of their employees who <br /> is certified to remove freon will begin some time next week <br /> to remove the freon from the refrigerators. " <br /> 6. ) Correspondence from Bay Colony Railroad re: Bridge re- <br /> pair - At the most recent Board of Managers meeting we re- <br /> ceived a letter from Bay Colony who indicated they would not <br /> be held responsible for transportation of trash from Otis to <br /> SEMASS because it was due to "Hurricane Bob" which they had <br /> no control over. " "We had two emergency meetings based on <br /> the letter." "The outcome was to contact Bay Colony and in- <br /> form them we have decided that if they cannot do the work we <br /> will do it ourselves at less than what they would charge us. " <br />
