MINUTES May 12 , 1994 4 BOARD OF HEALTH
Mr. Evans relayed, "I had a discussion with Ben Aldridge
this morning who gave these results over the phone. "
Mr. McQuaid stated, "I was under the impression water
test results were reported by the County. "
Mr. Evans stated, "In my opinion, because of the wide
range in the results that it was very difficult to make some
kind of conclusion. " "Normally the iron is in the water it
is not in the pipes. "
Mr. Doherty commented, "When Mr. Haney takes the samples
as required he is taking them at the well head. "
Mr. Evans commented, "Presumably the low counts, less
than .1 is what the well is producing. " "I 'do not know why
all of a sudden the water gains more iron. "
Mr. Doherty stated, "I am convinced that there is a
problem. " "It does not appear to be the water coming out of
the well, it must be determined whether it is in the distri-
bution lines or whether it's the plumbing going into the
trailers. "
Mr. McQuaid stated, "Once the written results are re-
ceived from the County we will forward a letter along with
that to D.E.P. stating we want prompt attention to this prob-
lem."
Mr. Doherty questioned whether the Board has received
any kind of response from Mr. Haney.
Mr. McQuaid responded, "No. "
Mr. Doherty stated, "Pending the receipt of the reports
from the lab I feel the results are significant enough to de-
termine this a nuisance, based on secondary contaminants as
outlined in the Federal Safe Water Drinking Regulations. "
"Based on that determination I would recommend this Board
forward a notice to the State that we would like to see ex-
tremely prompt attention to this matter. " "In addition to
that I would recommend we forward a letter to Mr. Haney re-
laying our findings and also requiring him to have an engi-
neer submit an evaluation of the water distribution system
for the purpose of this Board to consider the engineer's rec-
ommendations for repair or to consider accelerating the time-
table requirements for connection to public water."
Mr. Ball motioned to forward the letters via certified
mail as stated by Mr. Doherty, Mr. Cram seconded, all agreed.
I
