MINUTES June 9, 1994 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Haney stated, "I have met with the Water District <br /> several times to review the situation. " <br /> Mr. Doherty stated, "There are a lot of bandaid patches <br /> in the water system. " "All the galvanized couplers, etc. are <br /> contributing to the rust problem. " "You must provide each <br /> unit acceptable drinking water. " <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to direct Mr. Haney within 14 days <br /> to provide the Police, Fire and this Board with emergency <br /> phone numbers, to submit a letter and timetable outlining his <br /> plan for connection to town water, to resume the septic up- <br /> grade plans at a minimum of five per year to include any <br /> failed systems and to have his engineer contact the Health <br /> Agent or meet this Board at his earliest convenience, Mr. <br /> Cram seconded, all agreed. <br /> APPOINTMENT: P. Dilorio - 54 Sunset Circle <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Mr. DiIorio is requesting this <br /> matter be continued until next weeks meeting as he had a <br /> prior engagement." <br /> Board members agreed to the request. <br /> APPOINTMENT: A. Moshonisio - Irrigation well (Briarwood) <br /> Mr. Moshonisio was in attendance for this scheduled ap- <br /> pointment. <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "This Board conditionally allowed <br /> the installation of an irrigation well pending v.o.c. re- <br /> sults. " "A v.o.c. test was taken and results indicated <br /> v.o.c. 's containing fuel oil. " "I did not take the test the <br /> standard way as I could not access the irrigation well . " <br /> "Instead, I took the sample from the sprinkler head. " "As <br /> v.o.c. 's volatilize once they encounter oxygen I was sur- <br /> prised that test results indicated v.o.c. 's beyond the recom- <br /> mended levels. " "Subsequently, the Board ordered disconnec- <br /> tion of the irrigation well. " <br /> Mr. Moshonisio presented a letter from the Barnstable <br /> County lab which states the well could be used for irrigation <br /> purposes as contaminates found are below recommended levels. <br /> Mr. Doherty explained to Mr. Moshonisio the <br /> unpredictability of v.o.c. 's. <br />
