Ball, Chairman <br /> 1. ) Warrants signed. <br /> 2 . ) Mr. Doherty motioned to approve the minutes of August <br /> 18, 1994 , Mr_ Cram seconded, all agreed. <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to accept the Executive Session min- <br /> utes of August 18, 1994 , Mr. Ball seconded. <br /> 3 . ) Correspondence from Town Counsel and Weston & Sampson <br /> re: Landfill classification and closure - Mr. McQuaid re- <br /> layed, "There are three issues that the town needs to address <br /> to be removed from the significant threat list and place on <br /> the potential threat list. " "The first being, all private <br /> wells within 500' of the landfill be tied into town water, <br /> the second is D.E.P. is to be provided evidence that there is <br /> no cross connection between the private well and public wa- <br /> ter, the third is D.E.P. is to be provided with rules and <br /> regulations establishing land use restrictions within the po- <br /> tential contamination area. " "As of today, all homes within <br /> the High Sachem Estates subdivision will be tied in. " "We <br /> have a written policy from the Water District confirming the <br /> cross connection policy and all our regulations dealing with <br /> use of private wells in potentially contaminated areas have <br /> been sent to Town Counsel. " "It looks promising that we will <br /> be removed from the significant threat list to the potential <br /> threat list which will give us 1 1/2 years to 2 years in <br /> which to cap our landfill. " <br /> 4 . ) Copy of letter from Weston & Sampson to D.E.P. re: La- <br /> goon closure - McQuaid relayed, "Weston & Sampson have sub- <br /> mitted the results of the sludge test. " "Once we receive the <br /> test results and D.E.P. approval the landfill contractor will <br /> perform the work as an addendum to the contract. " <br /> Acknowledged. <br />
