TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> February 2, 1995 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.. <br /> Members present: John T. Doherty and Robert F. Cram, Sr. (Mr. Ball joined the meeting <br /> at 7:15 p.m.) <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. John T. Doherty, Acting Chairman <br /> I-) Warrants signed. <br /> 2.) Mr. Doherty and Mr. Cram agreed to await approval of January 26, 1995 minutes <br /> until Mr. Ball joins the meeting. <br /> 3.) Revised trash budget and anticipated revenues - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "As a <br /> result of our meeting with the Executive Secretary he had no problem with our in-house <br /> budget but wanted me to trim the trash budget and wanted to see what the trash revenues <br /> were verses our trash expenses." "He would like to see a 50 - 50 wash on this." "I was <br /> able to trim our trash budget by $10,834.00 by reducing the hazardous waste collection <br /> day down from $20,000.00 to $15,000.00." "1 slightly reduced our expected tonnage." "I <br /> have an accurate figure as to what our participating costs with the Otis Regional Transfer <br /> Station would be." "I know it will be exactly $46,838.00 whereas, I thought I put in <br /> $51,000.00." "We reduced the trash budget by $10,000.00 bearing no unforeseen <br /> circumstances." <br /> Mr. Doherty commented, "In my opinion we are cutting this close to the bone." "I <br /> think we need to establish a fund to handle a spill." "I know we have not had to deal with <br /> it in the past and hopefully not in the future but if it happens I don't want to argue with the <br /> Finance Committee trying to come up with the funds at the last minute." "As you know <br /> time can be critical." "I don't think the Fire Department has anything." "When it comes <br /> to actual remediation they are going to hand it off to us." <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated, "That has been brought up several years past and annually <br /> thereafter and the Finance Committee's response to that has always been and I expect it to <br />
