r <br /> MINUTES February 2, 1995 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Emergency Failure Certification - 15 Greensward Road <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "I went out to the site and found the cesspool full." <br /> Board members forwarded their signatures to the "Emergency Repair <br /> Certification" form. <br /> Health and Safety Expo., 6110/95 Mash pee Commons <br /> Mr. Evans relayed, "Leisure Services has been asked to promote the health and <br /> safety exposition at Mashpee Commons." "There is a meeting February 16, 1995 at 10.00 <br /> a.m. at the Fields Point Office to discuss the exposition." <br /> Mr. Doherty and Mr. McQuaid will prepare material for the exposition. <br /> High School Building Committee <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "I attended a meeting in Boston last Monday with the High <br /> School Building Committee to discuss the high school treatment plant." "Neither Paul <br /> Griffin nor Stephen Greelish attended the meeting." "I have been arguing with the <br /> engineering firm for several months now on reducing the flow of the treatment plant and <br /> also.looking into alternative technology." "The outcome of last Monday's meeting with <br /> the architects and consulting firm to oversee the architects was we did convince them to <br /> down size the plant and to have the process of treatment be it s.b.r., r.b.c. or activated <br /> sludge go out to bid." "Now the estimated costs for the treatment plant which was 1.2 <br /> million has been reduced to $800,000.00." "The architects are now reducing it further to <br /> $500,000.00." "In my opinion I feel costs will be between $350,000.00 and <br /> $400,000.00." "I think my efforts are going to pay off to the town in the amount of <br /> $800,000.00." <br /> Board members thanked Mr. McQuaid for his efforts. <br /> *****OLD BUSINESS***** <br /> Paula Manzi - Request for reduction for Massage Facility fee <br /> Mr. Doherty commented, "The American Massage Therapy Association is an <br /> organization that charges an annual fee of $235.00 and an additional fee of$35.00 is paid <br /> to the State." "They do not certify the therapist however, they do cover liability under <br /> annual dues." "They do hope to license massage therapists in the future."
