TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> April 27, 1995 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Members present: Steven R. Ball and Robert F. Cram, Sr. Note: Mr. Doherty joined the <br /> meeting at 7:20 p.m. <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. Steven R. Ball, Chairman <br /> 1.) Warrants signed. <br /> 2.) Approve Minutes - Continued until Mr. Doherty is in attendance. <br /> 3.) Phone Book recycling ro osal - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "The company is willing <br /> to meet with the Board to propose setting up a recycling bin for phone books." "In my <br /> opinion we should pursue the matter." <br /> Board members agreed. <br /> 4.) Letter from W & S to D.E.P. re: Landfill gas monitoring - Mr. McQuaid relayed, <br /> "This is part of the landfill closure program." "We have to install gas monitoring wells as <br /> part of the closure." <br /> Acknowledged. <br /> 5.) Request for expansion of living space, 49 Woodland Avenue - Mr. McQuaid <br /> relayed, "In October of 1991 we authorized an emergency repair," "The owner did sign <br /> the affidavit stating they would not increase living space unless an engineer or professional <br /> registered sanitarian could determine the adequacy of the septic system." "At the time <br /> there was an existing 1000 gallon septic tank." "We approved the installation of a new <br /> 1000 gallon leaching pit with 3' of stone around it which would be adequate for up to five <br /> bedrooms." "The question is whether the owner must retain an engineer to determine its <br /> adequacy or is the fact that Orin Evans, as a registered sanitarian, who did the final <br /> inspection of the system in 1991 sufficient enough to allow an increase in living space." <br />
