Town Hall Water SUnply <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Ms. Greelish, one of the Water Commissioners, met with <br /> me to discuss the current water supply at town hall." "Most notably, the water supply is <br /> considered a non-transient water supply as approved by the D.E.P.." "Four years ago <br /> when the well went dry we declared it an emergency and had Scannell repair the well <br /> unbeknownst to D.E.P.." "They, on their periodic checking of non-community water <br /> supplies, were made aware of the fact that the well had been repaired without their <br /> knowledge." "After much communication they agreed to allow us to continue to Usti the <br /> well as long as the usage was not increased because it has a 0' protective radius." "Now, <br /> with the new town hall renovations coming about, where we're going to be increasing the <br /> square footage of town hall office space by about 1/3, there is not way that we are going <br /> to be able to convince D.E.P. that we are not going to be increasing the water usage. <br /> "We have a choice, either comply with the D.E.P. in relocating the well out to the 4.+ <br /> acres out back with an adequate protective radius at a significant cost or petitioning the <br /> water district to bring the main out from Sarakumett Village to this intersection."
