MINUTES June 11, 1998 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to grant the variance as requested, Mr. Doherty seconded, all <br /> agreed. <br /> 101 Snead Drive - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "The applicant is requesting a 3' variance from <br /> the street side of the lot." <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to grant a 3' sideline variance, Mr. Doherty seconded, all <br /> agreed. <br /> 42 Great River Road - Mr. McQuaid stated, "Approximately one year ago Holmes and <br /> McGrath came before the Board stating the existing septic system was in failure." "They <br /> proposed a tight tank which this Board approved." "This is a very small house which is <br /> used only seasonally." "I forwarded a letter to D.E.P. requesting that they approve the <br /> tight tank." "The D.E.P. has rejected the tight tank proposal and instructed Holmes and <br /> McGrath to design a Title V system." "Title V only requires a 50' separation from the <br /> wetlands." "Holmes and McGrath revised plans to delineate a Title V system." <br /> Mr. Doherty stated, "I will vote to deny the variance because I don't feel that all <br /> means have been exhausted." "They haven't proposed a denitrification system." <br /> Mr. Cram stated, "In my opinion, a tight tank should be installed due to the close <br /> proximity to the wetlands and it is in the flood hazard zone." <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to deny plans as presented without prejudice, Mr. Doherty <br /> seconded, all agreed. <br /> 9.) Emergency failure certifications - 54 Bayberry Drive, 40 Porthole Drive and 72 <br /> Old Colony Drive <br /> 54 Bayberry Drive - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "I inspected the site and found the pit full." <br /> "A d-box and secondary pit will be installed." <br /> Board members forwarded their signature's to the "Emergency Repair <br /> Certification" form. <br /> 40 Porthole Drive _ Mr. McQuaid relayed, "I inspected the site and found sewage <br /> backing up into the toilet." <br /> Board members forwarded their signature's to the "Emergency Repair <br /> Certification"form. <br />
