"We were hoping to have that grant <br /> before the end of this month so that the town would not have to immediately borrow <br /> funds for the closure and bid specs." "With this at least the town can apply for the funds." <br /> Mr_ Cram questioned, "What can the town do to overcome this political hurdle <br /> that is being thrown at us in regards to the town being the recipient of funds that we were <br /> promised and allocated?" <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated, "We have to be political in this." "We have to use Mr. Cahir <br /> and Mr. Rauschenbach and pressure Weston & Sampson to get us that money because if <br /> we don't push this politically it's not going to happen." <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to direct the health agent to draft a letter to the Executive <br /> Secretary indicating this Board's opinion about the $350,000.00 and how to obtain it, Mr. <br /> Doherty seconded. <br /> 7) Perc extension request 16 Metacom Road - Mr. McQuaid stated, `The perk test I <br /> witnessed in August of 1995 didn't have 4' of permeable material to groundwater." "Mr. <br /> Evans did one on May 11, 1995 and he hit groundwater at 6.4' with questionable soils <br /> above it." "These perk tests are three years old, I truly question whether this lot is <br /> buildable." <br /> Mr. Doherty questioned, "Have any plans been submitted so that they can test in <br /> that location?" <br /> Mr. Doherty responded, "No." <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to deny the request for a perk extension, Mr. Doherty <br /> seconded. <br /> At this time Mr. Ball rejoined the meeting_ <br /> 8.)
