TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> October 29, 1998 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Members present: Robert F. Cram Sr. and Steven R_ Ball <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> W. Robert F. Cram, Chairman <br /> 1.) Warrants signed. <br /> 2.) The minutes of October 1, 1998 were continued until Mr. Doherty is in attendance. <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to accept the minutes of October 22, 1998, Mr. Cram seconded. <br /> APPOINTMENT: Bob Collette - C.C. Tobacco Control Program Update <br /> I <br /> Mr. Collette was in attendance for this scheduled appointment. <br /> Mr. Collette relayed, "We performed a compliance check on nine stores in <br /> Mashpee." "Out of the nine stores eight sold cigarettes to minors." <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated, "I would recommend the Board direct me to issue a strong <br /> warning stating should the violation occur again they will be fined and may lose their <br /> permit to,sell tobacco." <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to direct the agent to send a written warning to those store <br /> owner's in violation stating should they fail the next compliance check a fine will be <br /> imposed and they may lose their permit to sell tobacco products, Mr. Cram seconded_ <br /> Mr. Cram directed the agent to notify the news media of those establishments that <br /> failed the compliance check. <br /> Mr. Collette commented, "I will be working with detective Dottridge to setup <br /> another merchant education workshop." <br />
