TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> August 24, 2000 <br /> Meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> Members present: Steven R. Ball, L. Glenn Santos, Elias A. Warrants signed. <br /> 2. Approve Minutes of August 10, 2000 meeting <br /> Approval of minutes was postponed pending receipt of revised minutes and <br /> until all Board members are present. <br /> 3. Tobacco sales non-compliance -- Chaudhry's Market <br /> The Cape Cod Regional Tobacco Control Program did a compliance check <br /> recently in which three businesses in town failed. This was the third time that <br /> Chaudhry's Market on Route 28 has failed a compliance check. Board <br /> members decided that a warning letter should be sent to Chaudhry's stating <br /> j that next time they fail a compliance check they will be fined and/or their <br /> license may be subject to revocation. <br /> I <br /> 4. Proposed Zoning By-law "Home Occupation" -- FYI <br /> Board acknowledged. <br /> 5. AFCEE private well testing results: Jan. '99 - June '00 <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated that the report included an important summary table <br /> showing slight traces of methylene chloride at levels of 0.2 - 0.6 which are well <br /> below the federal standards. Mr. McQuaid further stated that these levels <br /> should cause no concern whatsoever, however he doesn't want the Board to be <br /> accused of not reacting to these trace levels. The homeowners in these well <br /> areas are being sent this report directly by AFCEE. <br /> Board acknowledged. <br /> 6. Revised plans:_17 & 23 Alma Road <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated that these plans have been resubmitted by the engineer for <br /> approval. The lots are well over an acre and approved already for four <br /> bedrooms. Mr. McQuaid stated that he has no real concerns about the revised <br /> plans and that there are no reasons to deny their approval, however the homes <br /> are considerably larger than the surrounding houses. <br />
