MINUTES November 30, 2000 3 BOARD OF HEALTH
APPOINTMENT: Robert Fox re: Proposed addition at 128 Tide Run
Architect Tim Luff was in attendance for this scheduled appointment. Mr. Fox was not
in attendance.
Mr. Luff indicated that the owner is requesting to add an exercise room and study. to
the existing home.
Ms. Warden stated that these rooms could be construed as bedrooms and the septic
system was not designed to accommodate five bedrooms.
Mr. Doherty stated that both new rooms can easily meet the standards of a bedroom
and that they would easily be construed as bedrooms. Ms. Warden then
recommended that the septic system be upgraded in order to accommodate these two
additional rooms as bedrooms.
Mr. John Slavinsky of Cape & Islands Engineering, who was in attendance for another
matter and who designed the original system, stated that a bull run valve had been
installed at the time of the system and that if it was replaced with a distribution box
the system would be able to accommodate the additional bedrooms due to the system
having flow diffusers.
Mr. Doherty motioned to approve the plans pending activation of both the primary and
secondary leaching and a distribution box in place of the bull run valve in order to
accommodate a five-bedroom dwelling. Mr. Santos seconded the motion. Motion
passed.
APPOINTMENT: Ed Pesce re: 266_Monomoscoy Road
Mr. Pesce was in attendance for this unscheduled appointment.
Mr. Pesce wanted to update the Board on the project at 266 Monomoscoy Road. He
indicated that the Conservation Commission voted to reconsider the project and that
he would be scheduling a new dewatered perc test at the site within the next couple of
weeks.
7. Emergency Repair Certification
Ms. Warden indicated that the cesspool is full and that the installation of 1000-
gallon pit with 3' of stone in the same location is necessary due to the fact that
the lot is severely confined. Strip-out will be required.
Board members forwarded their signatures to the Emergency Failure
Certification form.
3 Attaguin Street
Ms. Warden indicated that the cesspool was overflowing onto the ground
surface and that the installation of a new pit with 3' of stone and a distribution
box was necessary. Also, the lot constraints won't allow all galleys.
Board members forwarded their signatures to the Emergency Failure
Certification form.
I
