COURTEMANCHE: That's correct. The Intertidal area is depleted. I . <br /> The lower estuaries still have shellfish. <br /> F. NICHOLS: Cherrystone quahogs were good at Punkhorn Point. <br /> R. COURTEMANCHE: There is some shellfish at Punkhorn Point The i <br /> determination will be made by the DOMF. <br /> F. NICHOLS: How can they make a determination if they've been <br /> killed off? <br /> R. COURTEMANCHE: They take the winter into consideration. I did <br /> submit a report to the DOMF estimating the amount of loss we had <br /> in this Town as far as shellfish is concerned. The actual <br /> survey is made in the water taking square yard samples. <br /> F. NICHOLS: Does this grant go all around the island? <br /> F. NICHOLS: Does this grant go all around the Island? <br /> R. COURTEMANCHE: Approximately 90 ' - 100 ' in circumference around <br /> the Island, excluding the channel between the Island and Punkhorn <br /> Point, that is totally enclosed by the grant. The grant consists <br /> of approximately 4.65 acres. If approved, the area will be marked <br /> by buoys. <br /> E. SIMPSON: Are there any private landowners in that area? <br /> R. COURTEMANCHE: Gooseberry Island is owned by one individual. <br /> It does abutt Punkhorn Point and there are two private abuttors <br /> there. Mr. McCloud, Mr. Nichols, Mr. Savage. <br /> MR. NELSON: There is one more that has not had notification. <br /> Walter Highland of Brockton. He' s between Savage and us, right <br /> on the water. <br /> V. POCKNETT: Does the Town own the marshland there? <br /> G. BENWAY: Yes. The Town owns a crescent marshland tidal land <br /> all the way to a place that used to be Warner' s Bog. <br /> V.
