MASHPEE, MA 02649 <br />APPROVED:05/21/2024 <br /> <br />Present: Ann Macdonald, Joan Lyons, Ruth Nickerson, Sandi Lahart, Mary LeClair <br /> <br />Absent: Kate Milde, Bethany Geatrakas <br /> <br />Also Present: Kathy Mahoney- Library Director, Mary Hillerich – Candidate for election <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Co-Chair, Joan Lyons called her last meeting of the Library Trustees to order at 6:03P.M. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: March 12, 2024 <br /> <br />MOTION: <br />Joan Lyons made a motion to accept the meeting minutes from March 12, 2024. <br />Seconded by Mary LeClair. All in favor. <br /> <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Ann Macdonald – Yes Joan Lyons – Yes <br />Ruth Nickerson – Yes Mary LeClair – Yes <br /> Sandi Lahart – Yes <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Mary Hillerich pulled papers to run for the Board of Library Trustees in the May 2024 Town <br />Election. <br /> <br />LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT <br />Statistics for March print show 16,017. The highest March was FY ‘23 at 17,219, but in <br />February 2023 the library just switched from Siera, so our system was offline for 4-5 days, <br />eventually the numbers were tallied. Kathy Mahoney thinks there was pushover from February <br />to reflect those high numbers. There were no holidays or storms, which meant we were open a <br />lot more days. eBooks were 4,400. Consistently for the last year, new library cards remain at <br />100 new library cards a month. <br /> <br />Currently, everyone is working hard getting ready for summer and figuring out summer <br />th <br />programs. The summer lunch program called Summer Eats starts their training on May 30for <br />safety, food handling, and reporting requirements. The majority of staff took the CPR and AED <br />training which is a requirement for anyone tending to this specific program. Upon further review, <br />there were changes to the CPR rescue breaths and the wearing of a mouthpiece. <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
