<br /> <br />MOTION: <br />Ms. Nickerson made a motion to approve the meeting minutes for October 3, 2023. <br />Seconded by Ms. Milde. Seconded by Ms. Milde. All in favor. <br /> <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Ann Macdonald – Yes Kate Milde – Yes <br />Joan Lyons – Yes Beth Geatrakas – Yes <br />Ruth Nickerson – Yes Mary LeClair – Abstain <br /> Sandi Lahart – Abstain <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Ms. Macdonald mentioned her neighbor will be a potential candidate for the upcoming election <br />vacancy when Ms. Lyons steps down. She could not make it this evening. <br /> <br />LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT <br />Ms. Mahoney discussed how January and February circulation had been up. Many library cards <br />were issued, especially on election day as the library holds Precinct 5. She looked back a whole <br />year and they averaged about 100 new cards issued per month. eBooks had a12% increase. <br />Less is being spent on eBooks, she is trying to cut back on the CPC model as it is very costly. <br />The CPC was just turned back on because there were still 80 people waiting for a certain book <br />now. <br /> <br />Ms. Macdonald asked how other libraries were dealing with this. <br /> <br />Ms. Mahoney responded that it is proving very difficult to keep up with the e-format across the <br />board. You can’t track if people are requesting the actual book and the eBook, and whatever <br />comes first most times the holds are not canceled on the eBooks. Maybe they can provide <br />some education on how to cancel a hold. There is no way for the system to track right now as <br />its two separate systems. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
