7 <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> JUNE 11 , 1996 <br /> Tory Potts called the EDC meeting to order at 7 : 00 p.m. at the <br /> Senior Center. <br /> Members present: Tom Potts , Paul Reynolds , Steve Innis, Ted <br /> Lewis, Sharon Koblinsky . <br /> Alternate members present: Steve Kyros , Cynthia Green. <br /> Also present: Wayne Duchemin, EDC Coordinator <br /> The Minutes of June 4 ,. 1996 were accepted as amended. <br /> Wayne distributed a draft letter of invitation to a public <br /> hearing on the recently completed Economic Development <br /> Partnership grant Final,_Report--Mashpee: Towards Shared and <br /> Sustainable Development. The hearing will be held at the Doreen <br /> Grace Brain Center in New Seabury on June 20 , 1996 at 7 : 30 p.m. <br /> Wayne will do a press release and a mailing to the media, cable <br /> TV, EDC Partnership., Selectmen, Finance Committee, Water <br /> District, Chamber of Commerce, Tribal Council , etc. The Report <br /> will be available for reading prior to the hearing. Wayne will <br /> arrange to have coffee and cookies for refreshments. Mt. Auburn <br /> will explain the report, and EDC will provide background <br /> information. There will be an input session and question and <br /> answer period. Sharon asked how we are going to ask for <br /> feedback. Tom suggested a handout that attendees could fill <br /> out or mail back. Ted suggested if people see a summary in <br /> advance this might stimulate some thinking and feedback. Paul <br /> suggested asking Ken Marsters to start the feedback session <br /> at the hearing. Wayne stated that EDC is embracing some good <br /> ideas in the Report and ho.pes. the sub committees will report <br /> on what they have accomplished and plan to do in the future. <br /> Other committees can embrace ideas that relate to their purpose <br /> and function. Tom,_P.otts made .a motion to spend up to $140 for <br /> postage, coffee and cookies. Paul Reynolds seconded. Unanimous'. ' <br /> The Cape Cod Commission Reporter was circulated. <br /> Wayne received a quote of $73 to $93 for 50 note pads, 711x7" <br /> in a block of 5.0 .. , He did not get_ a quote for business cards. <br /> Paul suggested tabling this item. <br /> Paul received a call. from. Liz Miller of Maxm Consulting and <br /> learned we will be on the Internet by next week. <br /> The Welcome sign areas have been cleaned up and look neat. <br /> Bushes have been moved so there is room for the Beautification ' <br /> Committee to add plants. EDC was billed $944 .50 for .this <br /> service. Regular maintenance will be scheduled after Labor <br />
