ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> NOVEMBER 12, 1996 <br /> Paul Reynolds called the EDC meeting to order at 7: 00 p.m. at <br /> the Senior Center. <br /> Members present: Paul Reynolds, Ted Lewis , Gloria Dube <br /> Alternates: Steve Innis, Sharon Koblinsky <br /> Others : Wayne Duchemin, EDC Coordinator <br /> The Minutes of October 22 , 1996 were approved as presented. <br /> Paul asked EDC if anyone was interested in attending the Annual <br /> Meeting of SEED on November 21 , . 1996 ; there was no interest. <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR'S REPORT <br /> Wayne distributed the Economic Development Draft Summary of <br /> the Mashpee Comprehensive Plan (which contains the Mt. Auburn <br /> summary ) . There will be a public hearing held on Wednesday, <br /> November 20th, 7: 00 p.m. at the Senior Center. EDC will make <br /> an effort to be there. <br /> The Cape Cod Commission is meeting on November 14th and still <br /> needs to vote on the development plan for the Industrial Park. <br /> Wayne is planning to meet with the Industrial Park on the PWED <br /> project next Tuesday , November 19th at 3 : 30 p.m. Tom Fudala , <br /> Greg Taylor , and Ted Lewis will also attend. The Sampson' s <br /> Mill Road proposal has been changed to create a loop to keep <br /> traffic out of that neighborhood. The Selectmen have requested <br /> an explanation of the EOA at their November 18th meeting. Wayne <br /> has not done an employment pool mailing yet. <br /> e <br /> SUB COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Mentor Program: , Steve reported on the sub committee meeting <br /> t held in his office and attended by Paul, Torn, and Wayne. A <br /> letter` will go out this week to about nine people who will give <br /> support and input to this program ( i .e. Bank of Boston) . The <br /> letter will be followed up with a phone call . There will be <br /> a meeting in mid December with the volunteers to formalize a <br /> schedule; volunteers will be asked to give a 1 - 2 hour <br /> presentation on a scheduled night. Press Releases will follow. <br /> The Mashpee Enterprise and WMVY will dive us free PR. Gloria <br /> Dube will reserve space at the new High School through Leisure <br /> Services, and Steve and Paul will tour the high school and <br /> determine an appropriate room. The next sub committee meeting <br /> will be Monday, November 25th, 5 : 30 p.m. at Steve Innis ' s office. <br /> Education Committee: Gloria Dube reported she met with Trish <br /> two times , and she will meet with her again this Thursday. <br /> They plan to get started this January 1997 introducing a <br /> curriculum by Junior Achievement that explores business in all <br />
