ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES JANUARY 14, 1997 Gloria Dube , Vice Chair, called the EDC meeting to order ( in Paul Reynolds absence) at 7 : 00 p.m. at the Senior Center. Members present: Gloria Dube, Steve Kyros Alternates present: Cynthia Green, Toi-Li Potts Others: Wayne Duchemin, EDC Coordinator The Minutes of November 12 , 1996 , November 26 , 1996 , and December 10 , 1996 were accepted as amended. There was no correspondence. EDC COORDINATOR'S REPORT Wayne distributed a revised EOA application and stated Bob W. wants EDC' s approval before it is submitted to the Board of Selectmen at their next meeting on January 27 , 1997 . Bob. W. would like an EDC meiaber present at the Selectmen ' s meeting to give support. References to PWED and a tax incentive package have been eliminated due to the negative sentiment. The EOA designation has been approved at Town Meeting, and this document will be the application to the State. Steve Kyros made a motion that EDC approve the EOA application which will be presented to the Board of Selectmen for their approval as per Articles 37 and 38 of the Town Meeting warrant. Tom Potts seconded. Unanimous. Wayne distributed a copy of EDC' s FY97 budget appropriations and FY98 budget requests. He recommended the following for the FY98 budget: #1540 P/T salary $16 , 725 . 00 #1437 Communication 500 . 00 #1220 Other 6 , 000 . 00 $23 ,225 . 00 Wayne stated that the $6 ,000 would be used to purchase another Guide for Business and to market the Industrial Park "incubator" space. The salary reflects Wayne ' s step increase. Tow Potts recoiiimended level funding since last year EDC asked for an increase to market Augat. Toga further stated he supports having a WWW.MashpeeEDC.com address. Tom made a motion to level fund the FY98 budget, Steve Kyros seconded. Unanimous. Wayne stated he received a call from Array Collins about a Cape Tech Council meeting on January 17th from 6 : 00 p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m. at the Tara Hyannis. Wayne will attend since no EDC member is available to attend.
