Town of Mashpee / 6 Great Neck Road North Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 BOARD OF ASSESSORS - PUBLIC SESSION Mashpee Town Hall - Ockway Meeting Room 2 Wednesday, February 25, 2015 - 6:00 PM Board Members Present: Also Present: Gregg Fraser, Chairman Jason Streebel, Director of Assessing Sheldon Holzer, Vice Chairman Charles E. Stevens Paul Andrews, Clerk Marilyn Stevens CALL TO ORDER Chairman Gregg Fraser called the meeting to order at 6:11 PM. PUBLIC COMMENT — Charles E. Stevens. Mr. Stevens introduced himself to the Board and stated his interest in attending the meeting in support of Edward Allen, 52 Seconsett Point Road, in Mr. Allen's application for a real estate property abatement. Mr. Allen's application states that his property is overvalued and is classified with the wrong neighborhood adjustment. Mr. Stevens also inquired about the committed assessment, the abated amount and final assessment after adjustment of several other properties on Seconsett Point Road. OLD BUSINESS • Approval of Minutes: BOA Public Session, 1/21/15. Paul Andrews made a motion that the minutes from the Public Session on1/21/15 be approved as presented. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. • Approval of Minutes: BOA Executve Session, 1/21/15. Paul Andrews made a motion that the minutes from the Executive Session on 1/21/15 be approved as presented. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Paul Andrews made a motion that the Board of Assessors move into Executive Session, to comply with the provisions of a General Law, the Specific Law being MGL. Ch. 59 Sec. 60. thereafter to reconvene to Public Session. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. ROLL CALL VOTE: Paul Andrews, yes; Sheldon Holzer, yes; Gregg Fraser, yes. The motion was unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 6:14 PM. The meeting returned to Public Session at 6:25 PM. Paul Andrews made a motion that the Board of Assessors deny the 22 Real Estate abatement applications listed in Report # RE 02252015-D, using the Board signature stamps, beginning with the name Brooks,Jr., Thomas W and ending with the name Rutkowski, Janice D. Tr. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Paul Andrews made a motion that the Board of Assessors deny the Personal Property abatement application from Mashpee Care & Rehab. Center, Mashpee Healthcare LLC, listed in Report # PP 02252015-D. Sheldon Holzer seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.
