Affordable Housing Committee Minutes of Meeting Held Tuesday, August 7, 2001 Mashpee Town Hall — Meeting Room 1 Present: J. Cahalane, L. Botsford, L. Patrick, M. LeClair, A. Weinstein, J. Regan, Z. Elizenberry, L. Williams, and Tom Fudala (Planning). Absent: M. Meijering, G. Marshall, Public Audience: Bea Perkins, League of Women Voters A quorum being present, Leila Botsford, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7:23 p.m. Leila distributed a copy of Executive Order No. 418, which regulation she had brought to the attention of the Committee at the last meeting on July 10, APPROVAL OF MINUTES Louise Patrick motioned to accept the minutes of the July 10, 2001, meeting as amended; this was seconded by Mary LeClair; and unanimously approved. REQUESTS TO BE SUBMITTED TO SELECTMEN AND TOWN MEETING Following in-depth discussion regarding Affordable Housing requests to be presented to the Selectmen and then ultimately to the May -2002 Town Meeting, it was the consensus of the Committee that an initial request should be presented to the Selectmen and should include: (1) Request approval and endorsement of the Affordable Housing Committee's mission statement: "It is the mission of the Affordable Housing Committee to enhance the Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts and the quality of life of its residents by promoting diversity of housing inventory and undertaking the acquisition, rehabilitation, and development of affordable housing." (2) Request approval for the Committee to collaborate with the housing authority to form a non- profit (Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust) entity. (3) Provide an update on what the Committee has been doing. (4) Ask the Selectmen to pass a resolution that affordable housing is a priority.
