Affordable Housing Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting Held Tuesday, February 5, 2002 <br />Mashpee Town Hall -- Meeting Room 2 <br />Present: J, Cahalan, L. Botsford, L. Patrick, J. Regan, A. Weinstein, Z. Elizenberry, L. <br />Williams, R. Terry, <br />Absent: M. LeClair, and G. Marshall. <br />A quorum being present, Leila Botsford, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7:20 p.m. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Dick Terry motioned to accept the minutes of the October 2, 2000 meeting; this was seconded by <br />Louise Patrick; and was unanimously approved. <br />Zella Elizenberry motioned to accept the minutes of the November b, 2000 meeting; this motion <br />was seconded by Jamie Regan; and was unanimously approved. <br />Leila Botsford requested a motion that the notes of the informal meeting of December 4, 2000 be <br />entered in the formal record; Louise Patrick motioned that this be done; this motion was <br />seconded by Laverne Williams; and was unanimously approved. <br />Zella Elizenberry motioned to accept the minutes of the January 15, 2002 meeting; this was <br />seconded by Arthur Weinstein; and unanimously approved. <br />Affordable Housing Committee Organization <br />Leila Botsford informed the group that they only had a quorum present for 8 of 12 meetings held. <br />She therefore suggested the Committee consider requesting the Selectmen to either reduce the <br />number of members on the Committee or reduce the number needed to constitute a quorum. <br />John Cahalane stated that an Article might be needed to amend the requirement(s). Leila will <br />discuss the matter with Joyce Mason, Town Administrator; and Leila Botsford and Dick Terry <br />will re -work the Article insofar as membership requirements are concerned. <br />In addition, Leila will send a letter to the Tribal Council to see whether or not they could appoint <br />someone who would be available to attend the meetings. <br />Proposed Resolution to be presented to Selectmen <br />Leila Botsford advised that the Housing Authority was submitting a request to the Selectmen for <br />a land site for Affordable Housing. <br />Louise Patrick motioned that the Committee submit an Article to the Selectmen similar to the <br />Resolution Falmouth submitted to their Selectmen. This motion was seconded by Laverne <br />Williams; and was unanimously passed, except John Cahalane, who abstained. <br />
