9. MASHPEE AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE <br />MINiJTE5 <br />OCTOBER 149 2003 <br />Present J. Marino, J. Cahalane, A. Weinstein, Z. Eli enberry, L. Patrick, A. Lopez, E. <br />Smith <br />Meeting was called to order at :1 prn <br />New Business: <br />. <br />Erie Smith reported that there are no bidders for a housing consultant for Needs <br />Assessment. <br />b. <br />Membership: Alice Lopez was introduced as a newly appointed member to the ASIC. The <br />Conunittee was informed that Dick Terry has resigned as a member. Motion was made <br />that letter of thanks be sent to Dick acknowledging his hard work on the Committee. <br />particularly on the Affordable Housing Forum he organized last year. It was also <br />suggested that the letter request that Dick continue to he mailable as a resource to the <br />Committee. <br />There are two openings on the Committee- a letter of interest has been submitted by Bill <br />arnion. <br />Suggestion was made that future Committee members send letter of interest to <br />Selectmen, and attend AHC meeting for an interview before being appointed by <br />Selectmen. <br />C. <br />Review oActive and Potential E projects: <br />Most projects listed are in preliminary planning stages except for Meetinghouse Rd <br />which has been approved by the ZBA. <br />John Cahalane suggests that The ABC have an Action Plan in place in order to require <br />that builders come before the AIDC before going public with their plans. <br />Review of 40B Density Report: <br />Erie Smith presented his memo to the Committee reviewing the definition o `accepted <br />density" as requested by the Committee. <br />The question of density def ru*tion was discussed at length. It appears that there are <br />several ways to measure density — either by unit or by bedroom. <br />Zella suggested that a representative from the Water District come to the ASIC to explain <br />the rarnifications of building on the quality of water supply, and that this be factored in to <br />the measure of acceptable density. <br />
